Thien Van Thai

Born in Vietnam on November 14,1952, Thien was known for his kindness, sense of humor, love of nature, and his dedication to his family. In 1979, Thien and his family arrived in the United States after fleeing a war-torn country in search of starting over and building a new life.

He worked tirelessly for 39 years to help provide the American dream for his children. In 2018, he retired from Herley Industries, where he was known for his dedication and reliability and was highly regarded amongst his coworkers. He enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, cheering for the Philadelphia Eagles, and loved raising tropical fish.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Nga Thai; as well as his children Yen (Brian) Connolly, Mark (Abby) Thai; and his 5 grandchildren: Audrey Connolly, Flynn Connolly, Nova Connolly, Quinn Thai, and Penelope Thai.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM, at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 West Main Street, New Holland. The family will receive guests beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will occur immediately following the funeral in Bareville Cemetery, Leola.
