Vera H. Martin

Vera H. Martin, 88, a resident of Landis Homes, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

She was the wife of the late Moses H. Martin, who died in 2002. Born in West Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Lizzie Martin Hoover.

Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Hinkletown Mennonite Church. She was an avid world traveler, enjoyed reading, playing games, and volunteering at Booksavers.

Surviving are three daughters, Maureen Barr of Lititz, Sharon, wife of Richard Lambertson of Lancaster, and Julia, wife of Steve Schnute of Howell, MI; a son, Keith, husband of Melanie Martin of Elizabethtown; a daughter-in-law, Patti, wife of Matthew Brubaker of Ephrata; 21 grandchildren, 1 great grandson; a sister, Edna Burkholder of Ephrata; and two brothers, Henry, husband of Mabel Hoover, and Raymond Hoover, both of Ephrata. She was preceded in death by a son, Jay Scott Martin, sisters, Emma Zimmerman and Mary Martin, brother Clarence Hoover, foster brother Paul Ranck, and a foster sister, Edwina Weaver.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 26, at 11:00 A.M. at the Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2301 Division Highway, Ephrata, PA. The family will greet friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Hinkletown Mennonite Cemetery.
