Vera B. Nauman, 85, a resident of the Willow Valley Retirement Communities was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 29, 2018.
She was married 66 years this month to E. Glenn Nauman. Born in West Willow, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Rebecca Hertzler Bauman.
Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Manor Church. She was a member and past president of Farm Women Society #25, and a member and past vice president and president of the Auxiliary of the Lancaster South Camp of the Gideons International. She thoroughly enjoyed distributing Gideon Bibles.
She was an avid golfer and recorded four hole in ones in her life. Vera was a member and 1994 Club Champion of Meadia Heights Golf Club and a member of the Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, FL.
Vera was an accomplished seamstress and was known as a great cook. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed entertaining, was a kind, giving person and was always available to help people in need.
The staff of the Glen At Willow Valley loved Vera and the family would like to thank them for the great care that they provided to her.
Surviving besides her husband is a son, Dennis E. husband of Kim Wipprecht Nauman of Willow Street; two daughters, Nancy A. wife of Vaughn Murphy of Strasburg, and Yvonne M. wife of Steve Boxleitner of New Providence; twelve grandchildren, Rebecca Kauffman, Amanda Squires, Rachel Walsh, Gail Ulmer, Gerry Breneman, Jr., Greta Conaway, Ryan Shultz, Brittany Joyce-Stengle, Staci Murphy, Christa Murphy, Bridget Boxleitner and Cole Boxleitner; 21 great Grandchildren; and three sisters, Ella Nauman of Manheim, twin sister, Verna Leaman of Quarryville, and Mabel wife of Jacob Dagen of Lititz. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda J. Breneman and by a brother, Alvin Bauman.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, January 6, at 3:00 P.M. at Manor Church, 530 Central Manor Road, Lancaster, PA. A viewing will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:30 P.M. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the New Danville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Vera’s memory may be made to The Glenda Nauman Breneman Foundation, c/o WellSpan Philhaven, 283 S. Butler Road, Mt. Gretna, PA 17064.
