Vera B. Weaver, 95, of New Holland, formerly of Blue Ball, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Garden Spot Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin H. Weaver in 2013.
Born in Farmersville, she was the daughter of the late Landis and Clara (Rutt) Buchen.
Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church. She attended and was past president of the Weaverland Sewing Circle. She was known as a great seamstress, quilter and musician, playing and teaching her children to enjoy playing the piano, violin, and singing together as a family. She put her faith in Jesus Christ and prayed daily for each of her family members by name.
Surviving are four children: Marlene married to Kenneth B. Buckwalter, Ephrata; Faye married to Glenn L. Good, Leola; Donna married to Mark B. Van Scyoc, Leola; and Jerry married to Linda (Seiple) Weaver, Leola; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; six siblings: Clara Sauder, Thelma Sauder, Rhoda Leaman, Lois Kautz, Laverne Peifer and Curvin Buchen.
She was preceded in death by a son, Galen Weaver and four siblings: Esther Herr, Elizabeth Landis, Kenneth Buchen and Caleb Buchen.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Garden Spot Village Garden Towers with Chaplain C. Kenneth Martin officiating. Interment will be private in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Garden Towers on Friday from 1 – 2 p.m. Kindly omit flowers.
