Vera Z. Martin, 66, of 526 Quarry Road, New Holland, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at her home after a two year illness.

Born in Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late David W. and Lizzie S. (Zimmerman) Hoover. She was the wife of Reuben Z. Martin.

Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Reidenbach Mennonite Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are 9 children, Dorothy, married to Luke Martin of East Earl, Janet, married to Stanley Martin of Trenton, KY, Daniel, married to Nancy (Martin) Martin of Milton, Marie, married to Nelson Hoover of Pembroke, KY, Loretta, married to Matthew Martin of Ephrata, Timothy, married to Mary Jane (Hoover) Martin of East Earl, Eunice, married to David Hoover of East Earl, Marlin Martin at home, and Vera Jane, married to Jay Paul Hoover of Ephrata; 32 grandchildren; 12 brothers and sisters, John, married to Anna Hoover of Denver, Edna, married to Noah Martin of East Earl, Anna, married to Paul Martin of Milton, Eva, married to Paul Martin of Ephrata, Esther, married to Luke Hoover of Hopkinsville, KY, Edwin, married to Alta Hoover of Denver, Elizabeth, married to Clarence Hoover of Hopkinsville, KY, David, married to Lydia Hoover of New Holland, Edith, married to Paul Hoover of Denver, Marvin Hoover of Ephrata, Titus Hoover of Denver, and Leroy, married to Mable Hoover of Denver.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Melvin and Raymond Hoover; and an infant sister, Verna.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at the Reidenbach Mennonite Church with the Bishop Noah G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements are with the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
