Vernon L. Hoskins

Vernon L. Hoskins, 89, of Lancaster, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Magnolias of Lancaster.

Born in Akron, OH, he was the son of the late Clarence Lee and Della (Cramer) Hoskins. He was married 23 years to The Reverend Mary E. Hoskins. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara J. (Ferguson) Hoskins.

Vernon retired as a Terminal Manager in the trucking industry in Langhorne, PA where he had worked for many years.

He was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

He was a loving and much loved father and husband. Fishing, playing Bridge and the company of his friends filled his life.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Beth Anne, married to John Donohue of Newtown, Sheryl, married to Fred Menzen of Wrightstown, Scott L., married to Connie Hoskins of Sarasota, FL, and Jean M. Wasser of Quakertown. In addition he is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death is a sister, Doris Smith of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 11 am at the Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA 17601, with the Reverend Andrea Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park in Philadelphia.
