Bruce Hudson, 95, passed away on April 15, 2024 as a resident of Maple Farm.
Born in Drexel Hill, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Deputy) Hudson.
He was the husband of the late Mary Lou (Dubson) Hudson, with whom he married on January 18, 1964 and shared 57 years of marriage until the time of her passing on January 8, 2022.
He graduated from Upper Darby High School in 1946 and Temple University in 1951, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in real estate and insurance. Bruce served in the US Army Reserve as a Second Lieutenant. He had established Bruce Hudson Realtor in Media in 1956, being licensed in PA, DE, MD, NJ and FL. He was active for many years in the Media Optimist Club and was nominated for the Junior Chamber of Commerce Clubs Young Man of the Year award. He was a member of the Delaware County Board of Realtors, a director of The Media Federal Savings and Loan Association, Secretary of the Boys Media Club and member of the Board of Acts Communities. After marrying Mary Lou, he opened a second office, Dubson Hudson Realtors in Lansdowne, where Mary Lou was the manager.
The two loved ocean cruising and spent 50 years vacationing on major cruise lines. They also spent time at their home on the bay in Ocean City, NJ, where they loved boating and fishing. After thirty years in business, they retired to homes in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens and Vero Beach, Florida. In 2005 they returned to PA and moved into Garden Spot Village to be near old friends and relatives.
Prior to moving to Maple Farm, he was attending the Chapel at Garden Spot Village.
Bruce is survived by his sister-in-law Anita, a cousin Betsy, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Will Hudson and sister, Ruth Lehndorff.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4 at 2:00 in the Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557 with Chaplain Chet Yoder officiating. A time of visitation will be held following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Garden Spot Benevolent Fund at the address listed above.
