W. Eugene Witwer

W. Eugene “Gene” Witwer, 81, of New Holland, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the Mifflin Center in Shillington.

Born and raised in Caernarvon Twp., he was the son of the late Warren Witwer and Ruth (Yohn) Witwer Amthor.

Gene graduated from Caernarvon High School in Morgantown. He had various occupations, including raising registered Holsteins, and at age 70 fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a barber.

Preceding him in death was a sister, Barbara; and a brother, Richard Witwer.

Surviving are two sisters, Betty, married to Harold Wright of New Holland, and Nancy, married to Glen Erb of Ephrata; a sister-in-law, Cathy (DeHaven) Witwer, widow of Richard; and six nieces and nephews.
