W. Jean Mishler Naugle Wingard, 85, formerly of Morgantown and Davidsville, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, where she resided since 2009. She is survived by her husband Carl Wingard. She was preceded in death by her first husband Harry K. Naugle, who died in 1979, and a sister Betty Kissell.
Born in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late John and Nettie (Govier) Mishler. She had been a member of St. David’s Lutheran Church, Davidsville, and attended Forest Hills Mennonite Church, Leola, and presently attended the Garden Spot Community Church.
She was a faithful volunteer at the Morgantown ReUzit Shop for many years. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with family, friends and the GSV community. She also enjoyed sewing and repairing jewelry.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Pam, married to Michael Britt, Johnstown, Bonnie J. Beam, recent widow of Douglas, Morgantown, and Kimberly J. Moore and partner Eugene Jaskolka, Jr., Sinking Spring; stepsons, Donald Wingard, Elverson, and Thomas married to Linda (Stoltzfus) Wingard, Narvon, 9 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a sister Mary Grace Hill, Johnstown.
Her funeral will be held on Sunday, March 9, at 2:30 p.m. at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, PA 17557, with Chaplain Chester Yoder and Pastor Cheryl Hollinger officiating. A viewing will be held at the Chapel on Sunday from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Interment in Eby Cemetery, Monterey. If desired, memorials may be sent to the Garden Spot Village Benevolent Fund, address above.
