Walter A. Sweigart Sr.

Walter A. Sweigart Sr., 90, of Lititz, formerly of Terre Hill, passed away on August 29, 2024 as a resident of Kadima Rehabilitation and Nursing at Lititz.

Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Lettye B. (Hubertus) Sweigart.

He was the husband of the late Bonnie L. (Clayton) Sweigart, with whom he married on June 11, 1970 and shared 33 years of marriage until the time of her passing on April 11, 2003.

In his earlier years, he had worked for his father at his business, HW Sweigart, he was a forklift operator for the former Sperry New Holland (CNH), retiring after 27 years and worked for Martin’s Flooring in Fivepointville after his retirement. He enjoyed watching the Phillies, NASCAR and wrestling, doing word searches and enjoyed spending time with his cats.

Walter is survived by his sons, Craig A. husband of Linda Sweigart of Fennville, MI and Joshua S. husband of Michelle Sweigart of Denver, grandchildren, Justin, Michaela, Savannah, Tamia and Dawson, sister, Liz widow of Luther Fitterling and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his son Walter A. Sweigart Jr., who passed on April 25, 2021 and his sister, Barbara wife of George Wolfe.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at C. Stanley Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E Main Street, Terre Hill, PA 17581 with Pastor Jonathan Yoder officiating. A Viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Interment in Terre Hill Cemetery.
