Wayne G. Martin

Wayne G. Martin, 92, of Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, went to meet his Lord on May 31, 2016. He was formerly of East Earl, and he was the much-loved husband of Mary Irene (Sensenig) Martin to whom he was married for 70 years. He was born in the Bowmansville area and was the son of the late Peter S. and Lizzie (Gehman) Martin.

He will be missed by his wife and children; Ruth Ann and her husband David Longacre of Orrstown, PA: Jane and her husband Clifford Hoover of Westbrook, ME: Rhoda and her husband Herbert Mast of Morgantown, PA: Janet and her husband David Mast of Elverson, PA: Wayne and his wife Linda (Wise) Martin of East Earl, PA; Richard and his wife Patti (Zeimer) Martin of Denver, PA. He was a loving grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Wayne was preceded in death by a grandson, Rodney Mast, and by six siblings: Clyde, Edwin, Joseph, and Charles Martin, Ruth Sensenig, and Anna and Irene Martin.

Wayne, along with his wife, Mary, ran Martins’ Meats and Groceries in Churchtown. He was the owner of Store at Your Door, a grocery delivery service in the Churchtown/Morgantown area. Wayne enjoyed woodworking, spent years in cabinetry work, and his home is filled with fine furniture he crafted. He was a volunteer at Ephrata Hospital and at the New Holland Re-Uzit Shop. Wayne was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church.

A viewing will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016, from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Wheat Ridge chapel at Fairmount Homes, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. A visitation will be held at Weaverland Mennonite Church, 210 Weaverland Valley Road, East Earl, PA on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at 3:00 PM, with services to follow at 4:00 PM.
