Wayne F. Leidy, 90, of Morgantown, died Monday, March 7, 2011 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Farrell) Leidy in 1998. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Howard and Lottie (Howarth) Leidy. Wayne was a retired signalman with SEPTA. One of his hobbies was collecting trains. In his earlier years, he raced motorcycles (Vincents and Harleys) all across the U. S. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion. Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Sandra Farrell, New Holland; two granddaughters: Jennifer Lively, Ephrata and Dawn Brooks, Maryland; and four great-grandchildren: Anthony Farrell; Ashley, Elizabeth, and Scott Brooks. His funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 PM at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Roslyn on Friday at 2:30 PM. A viewing will be held at Beck’s on Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
