Wayne A. Snyder, 85, of Reading, PA, died peacefully at Complete Care Berkshire, on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Wayne was born in Macungie, PA, to his late parents, Leroy and Hilda (Gehman) Snyder. He was the husband of the late Diane J. (Zettlemoyer) Snyder and the late Margaret Snyder.
Wayne was a proud veteran of the United State Air Force. For many years he owned and operated his own landscaping company, Early Bird Landscaping. He specialized in the planting of trees and plants. His love of nature extended to his personal life, as he enjoyed being outdoors whenever possible. He enjoyed the company of his dogs, especially the senior dogs he rescued. In his spare time, Wayne enjoyed being surrounded by his family, watching the Philadelphia Eagles and attending Petra Church. He was a participant in the men’s bible study group and enjoyed their fellowship together.
Wayne is survived by his daughter-in-law, Lori Castor, of Mt. Penn, PA, four grandchildren, his sister, Karen Kihurani, his niece, Susan Skinner and her husband Travis, all of Washington, DC, and his nephew, Alex Kihurani and his wife Preema, of London, UK.
In addition to his two wives and parents, Wayne was predeceased by his son, William J. Metzinger.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Oasis Sanctuary at Petra Church, 565 Airport Rd, New Holland, PA. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. A luncheon will follow. Inurnment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family, in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to one of the following charities: Hillside SPCA in Schuylkill Haven - hillsidespca.com, Peaceable Kingdom in Allentown - lvpeaceablekingdom.info, or Safety Net Berks Co - safetynetsanctuary.com
C. Stanley Eckenroth Home for Funerals of Terre Hill, PA has been entrusted with arrangements.
