Wayne M. Viegut, 69, of Honey Brook, formerly of Wisconsin, died Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Paoli Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Born in Wausau, WI, he was a son of Helen (Schattl) Viegut and the late Melvin Viegut. He was married 47 years on June 19 to Nancy L. (Bennett) Viegut.

Wayne was working as Director of Heavy Equipment for CASCOR in Exton since June 2007. Previously he worked from 1970-1985 as a Mechanical Engineer for Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, WI. , from 1985-1997 for Domestic Fire Apparatus in Downingtown, and from 1997-2007 for Fire and Safety Services in Piscataway, NJ.

He was a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship and Americans 4 Heroes and he served as a volunteer firefighter for the Honey Brook Fire Company where he served as Chief Engineer from 1985-1998. Wayne also enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, and hearing, “Papa can fix anything.”

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two daughters, Brenda, married to John Sorber of Mohnton, and Holly, married to Bobby Hubert of Birdsboro; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Jenna, Alexa, Courtney, Kaylin, Zachary, and Peyton; a great granddaughter, Carter; a brother, Rodney, married to Judy Viegut of Appleton, WI, and Todd Viegut of Appleton, WI; and his loyal companion dog, Penny.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 17 at 3 pm at Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend David Bennett officiating. Viewing will be from 1-3 pm. If desired contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
