William (Bill) E Blain, age 80, of New Holland, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday April 19, 2020. He was born on February 3, 1940 to Edward and Charlotte (Lyster) Blain of Malvern, PA. Bill had an excellent work ethic and started working at a young age, ultimately retiring from his position as a Facilities Coordinator at International Centre for Diffraction Data in 2010. Throughout most of his life he was an active member of West Chester Church of the Nazarene. Bill was a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, and spending time with loved ones at the family cabin in Potter County. He was known for his generosity, propensity for telling stories, and love of ice cream. Bill was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
William is survived by his daughter Tawnya Blain, son Gunnar Blain and wife Catherine, daughter Shalkya Avery, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 3 sisters, 3 brothers, and longtime significant other, Janet Grande. William was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Charlotte Blain, his daughter Robin (Blain) Felder, and his siblings, David Blain, Charlotte (Blain) Brosius, Kathryn (Blain) Prouse, and Robert Blain.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a funeral service will not be held at this time. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
