William W. “Bill” Boley, 60, of 228 Redwell Rd., New Holland, died peacefully at his home on November 16 after a seven-month battle with cancer. His wife of 32 years, Trudy L. (Shirk) Boley, survives.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late William C. and Shirley G. (Fink) Boley.
Bill retired from CNH as a welder after 32 years of service.
He attended Summit View Brethren in Christ Church and was a member of Howell Lodge #405, F & A.M., Honey Brook and the Penn Dutch Sportsmen’s Club. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being at his cabin in Potter County.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Kerry married to Justin Miller, Spring Grove and Allison Boley, at home; and four siblings: Nancy G. married to George A. Burkholder, New Holland, Susan L. married to Sid E. Gehman, Narvon, Harry B. married to Penny (Buzzard) Boley, East Earl, and Mary A. married to Timothy A. Edwards, Terre Hill.
The family would like to thank the staff of Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg and Hospice & Community Care for the loving care given to Bill during his illness.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 10 a.m. at Ranck’s United Methodist Church, 700 Ranck Rd., New Holland with Pastor David Green officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday for 6 – 8 p.m. at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and on Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m. at the church. If desired, memorials may be sent to Hospice & Community Care, P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
