William Arnold Ludwig

William A. “Bill” Ludwig, 68, of East Earl, passed away on Saturday. April 27, 2024, at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy, following a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late Jean M. Kauffman Ludwig who died in 2017. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John H. and Thelma I. Haas Ludwig.

Bill retired in 2021 from Spanco in Morgantown, after 30 years of employment. He enjoyed fishing and vacationing in the Outer Banks, Chincoteague, VA, Ocean City, MD and Northeast, MD. He was happiest spending time with family and friends, riding his Harley and cooking and eating, especially seafood.

Surviving is a daughter, Melissa Ludwig wife of William Fisher of Nottingham; two step-sons,

Steve husband of Rebecca Hackman of Schaefferstown, and Greg husband of Josie Hackman of Newmanstown; 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; and a sister, Sandy wife of Vernon Myers of Honey Brook. He was preceded in death by a sister, Deb McKillips.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice and Community Care for the wonderful care they provided to Bill over the last weeks of his life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA with the Rev. Dave Fulmer officiating. The family will greet friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Bridgeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Hospice and Community Care or Water Street Mission.
