William W. Mcginnis

William W. “Bill the Mayor” McGinnis, Jr., 71, of New Holland, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Coatesville, he was a son of the late William W., Sr. and Betty Jane (Devine) McGinnis. He would have been married 7 years on August 14 to Thelma J. (Charlton) McGinnis.

Bill drove truck for many years for several area trucking companies. He enjoyed drag racing, collecting toy cars & trucks, and having coffee with the guys at Sheetz.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Linda, married to Roger Mast of Morgantown, William W. McGinnis, III of New Holland, Arthur, married to Reyna McGinnis of Leola, and Joann, married to Matthew Souden of New Holland; a step son, William C. Pate of Hastings, FL; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and two brothers, James, married to Kathryn McGinnis of Narvon, and Jake, married to Regina Houck of New Holland.

Preceding him in death are four brothers, George, Arthur, Gerald, and Charles.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 10 at 11 am at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland, with the Reverend Wes Boyer officiating. Interment will be in the Meadville Mennonite Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Funeral Home on Thur. from 10-11 am. To send the family online condolences visit us at www.beckfuneral.com.
