William J. Neumann

William J. Neumann Sr., 83, of New Holland, went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 5, 2023 as a resident of Garden Spot Village.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph Leo and Catherine (Charles) Neumann.

He was the loving husband of Carol A. (Veltman) Neumann, with whom he married on June 26, 1964 and was just short of celebrating fifty nine years of marriage.

William earned his bachelor’s degree from Cairn University and his master’s degree from Temple University. He was employed as a State Parole Agent for thirty-three years. He previously attended Christian Fellowship Church, Blue Church in Springfield and recently attended the Chapel at Garden Spot Village. He was a member of The Gideons International and he was on the board of Bible Visuals International for twelve years. He loved to travel, go on local and foreign missions trip, camping at Hickory Run State Park, was the original voice of Thomas the Engine in the Garden Spot Village train room. He will be remembered most for his friendliness and his love to be around others.

William is survived by his wife and his sons; William J. Jr. husband of Beth (Cumby) Neumann of State College and Steven S. husband of Clarisse (Schneider) Neumann of Haguenau, France. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Dustin husband of Jacqueline Neumann, Sarah Neumann, Alison wife of Patrick Shuman, Ryan Neumann and Julia Neumann and four great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter; Chloe Neumann, brother; Joseph Neumann and sisters; Jean Scarnici and Catherine Neumann.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557. There will be a visitation held for one hour prior to the time of service.
