William E. Sprecher

William “Bill” E. Sprecher, 90, long time resident of Bowmansville, suddenly passed away on his 90th birthday, December 4, 2023.

Born in Bowmansville, he was the son of the late Charles F. and Goldie (Demming) Sprecher.

He was the loving husband of the late Grace Ann (Bair) Sprecher, with whom he married on February 1, 1958 and shared 65 years of marriage until the time of her passing on February 22, 2023.

He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC in Bowmansville, where he was the Financial Secretary for many years. He was employed by Blue Ball National Bank for 49 years as a Loan Officer. In his earlier years, he was an active organizer for the 1970 Sesquicentennial Celebration Committee, he was the Brecknock Township tax collector for 12 years and recently he was on the Bowmansville Union Cemetery Board of Governors for many years, the Brecknock Township Sewer Authority and a bank consultant. In his free time, he enjoyed watching the stock market and mowing.

Bill is survived by his children; William Jeffrey husband of Deidre M. Sprecher of Bowmansville and Julie A. wife of Jeffrey Shirk of Ephrata and his grandchildren, Christopher Sprecher, Kaitlyn Sprecher, Corey Shirk and Melanie Shirk.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters; Betty Witwer and Mildred Wonder.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Eckenroth Funeral Home, 209 E. Main St, Terre Hill, PA with Rev. Phil Shober officiating. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the time of service. Interment in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery.
