January 19, 1941 – December 10, 2025
Wilma L. (Rutt) Shirk, 84, of Lititz, was called home to her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2025.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer M. and Ruth Irene (Stauffer) Rutt.
She was the loving wife of Walter M. Shirk Jr., with whom she married on April 2, 1966 and shared 59 years of marriage.
She attended Lancaster General Hospital’s Nursing School and was a registered nurse for 27 years for Ephrata Community Hospital and Lancaster General Hospital. She was an active member and organist of Trinity E.C. Church in Lititz. She was an organist for 72 years and was the pianist for the church choir. She enjoyed friendship with her church family and attending Bible studies, traveling, spending time with her family, camping in her earlier years, and lunch with Garden Spot classmates.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Walter, her children, Tina L. wife of Jeffery Bevan of South Lebanon, Tricia L. widow of Larry Bevins of Lititz and Timothy L. Shirk of Lititz, grandchildren, Nicholas Bevan husband of Brianne, Jenna Bevan and Alyssa Bevins and her sister, Christine wife of Robert Schmitz of Sykesville, MD.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son, Douglas James Shirk.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Lititz Trinity E.C. Church, 44 East Orange Street, Lititz PA 17543 with Pastor Nathan Fry officiating. A Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service. A private interment will be held in Bridgeville E.C. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to United Zion Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz PA 17543.
Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
