Wilmer R. Martin

Wilmer R. Martin, 91, passed away on November 11, 2023 as a resident of Fairmount Homes.

Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Harvey A. and Mary K. (Rutt) Martin.

He was the loving husband of Gladys L. (Yoder) Martin, with whom he married on December 30, 1961 and shared 61 years of marriage.

He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and was employed as a cabinet builder for over 30 years for Rutt’s Custom Kitchen. In his later years, you could find him working at Yoder’s in the store and serving banquets. He enjoyed woodworking, word search puzzles, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, his children; Michael husband of Barbara Martin of East Earl and Carol wife of Chuck Lehman of East Earl, 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and his sister; Ruth Ann wife of Bill Martin.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter; Marjorie Martin, twin brother; Willis Ray Martin, his siblings; Irene Weaver, Esther Snader, Carl Martin and Mary Martin and his stepsister; Henrietta Shertzer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Street, New Holland PA 17557 with Reverend Dave Horst officiating. A Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service in the church. A private interment will be held in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.
