Woodrow A. Helmick

Woodrow A. Helmick (Woody), 72, of East Earl, went to meet his Lord, Monday March 18 at Hospice & Community Care of Mt. Joy.

Born in West Virginia, he was the son of the late Byrd and Hattie Helmick.

He was married 46 years to Rosemarie (Hettich). Woody served in the US Army. He was a lifetime member of Garden Spot Fire Rescue and attended Christian Fellowship Church of New Holland.

He was employed for 41 years by Glasgow, Inc.

In addition to his wife, he will be lovingly missed by 2 sons and 2 daughters: Cathy wife of Greg Hack of KY; Earl Bloom of East Earl; Denise Bloom Helmick of Philadelphia; Tom Helmick husband of Suzanne (Brill), New Holland; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and a brother John Helmick of GA.

He was predeceased by 2 sisters and 1 brother.

A memorial service to celebrate Woody’s life will be held at Christian Fellowship Church of New Holland, 758 Spruce Rd., New Holland on Saturday, March 23 at 10 a.m. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice & Community Care, P.
